The band consists of vocalist and pianist Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, drummer Will Champion, and manager Phil Harvey. The group initially met at University College London, where they originally called themselves "Big Fat Noises" before eventually settling on the name "Starfish" and finally Coldplay.
