The tour coincides with the release of her new EP, The Closest We'll Get, which is set to arrive on October 24 via Atlantic Records. This follows her signing with the label earlier this year.
The new EP: The Closest We'll Get
The EP was recorded in Brooklyn with producer Philip Weinrobe, known for his work with Adrianne Lenker.
Mescal described the EP as a collection of songs about "the grey area of friends or lovers".
The project builds on her recent single "Carried Away" and features a folk-influenced, natural sound.
A busy year for the rising artist
The tour caps off a year of rapid growth for the 22-year-old artist. In 2025, Mescal has:
Signed with Atlantic Records.
Released new music, including the singles "Carried Away" and the EP's title track.
Played at major festivals like Reading and Leeds.
Appeared at Sheffield's Rock N Roll Circus, supporting headliner Bryan Adams.
Embarked on a US tour and performed with major acts such as HAIM, Florence & The Machine, and The Last Dinner Party.
In a July 2024 interview with The Independent, Mescal expressed some frustration with social media, especially the need to "play the game a little bit" to stay relevant. She contrasted this with her love for live music, stating, "It's like, I can't wait to be at a point where I don't have to be on social media any more!'".
Her recent comments and interviews show that she values genuine connection with fans through live performances more than social media. Her excitement about touring, as shown in her recent X post, is particularly meaningful because it represents an opportunity to engage directly with her audience in a more personal way
