Want some interesting facts about Maxïmo Park ?
Finding the Frontman: Paul Smith, the band's frontman, wasn't originally a vocalist. Drummer Tom English's then-girlfriend discovered Smith singing along to Stevie Wonder in a pub, leading to him joining the band.
The Band's Name: Maxïmo Park takes its name from Máximo Gómez Park (also known as Domino Park) in Little Havana, Miami. Paul Smith notes that the park serves as a place where people gather to discuss various topics, reflecting the band's approach to songwriting.
Early Single Production: Their very first single, "Graffiti" / "Going Missing," was a limited edition 7" red vinyl funded by a friend and recorded in a band member's flat. This single is how Warp Records, their first record label, discovered them.
